Products I've tried, tested, and loveeeee (or hated). No sponsorships, just honest recommendations from someone who has dealt with acne their entire life. Hoping to de-influence you from trending items too!
derm reccomended this cleanser and i haven't looked back since. very gentle on the skin and does not make your face feel dry after washing (which i cannot say about many cleansers). also i lean towards having oily skin, so if you're not oily, may not be the right match.
Currently using
gets all the dirt out of your pores without you needing to aggresively scrub. very gentle on the skin too!! 10/10
one of the first cleaners i used which was really foamy and kind on my skin! this cleanser taught me that i need to buy foamy cleanser since i had oily skin hahaha!
you know the bouncy, glowy skin skincare influencers have? this is my version of how I get there. smells SO good, very lightweight, but definitely helps skin absorb the nutrients of this bottle. i feel like my skin feels more put together after using this. caveat: it is expensive but i think it's worth every penny!
Currently using
not sure if this is considered a serum but this booster was very effective! lowkey all of paula's choice products have been good experiences with me.
simple. lightweight. all you need in a moisturizer tbh. texture is like water which i prefer over the creamy type. if you're using a retnoid for acne, i find it helpful to sandwich the moisturizer.
Currently using
a little bit thicker than the Cerave moisturizer but still considered very lightweight imo. quite moisturizing too and it smells good (tbh all of Shisedo's products smell good)! i can go through a tub every two months so economically not the best option hahaha.
mineral sunscreen is a must!! doubles as a light 'foundation' that smooths pigmentation from scars and sunscreen. i literally stopped using makeup after this.
Currently using
very convenient and easy to put on in the morning. not greasy and very effective. lowkey i think there's a self-tanning aspect to this because i feel like i get a natural tan when using this.
smells good, kinda lightweight, and does blend well imo! it's just a bit pricey and not as much, but veyr effective sunscreen!
the only pimple patches i buy now. the only effective one. don't waste your money on the others!!!
can make an pimple disappear in size over night. saved my life many, many times. make sure to put it on after moisturizer tho.
my holy grail products i swore by when on accutane :D
** not medical advice ** (i don't think you want medical advice from me anyways)
this is the BEST, ABSOLUTE BEST balm you can have for dry lips and skin. the formula is far best than any other ointment out there. if there's one thing you need to invest in, this is it. i religiously carried a small tub of this for 9 months and to this day, still only swear by this balm.
get yourself a bottle of Vitamin E because accutane is harsh on the body, which can cause hair loss and really sensitive skin. i think taking Vitamin E throughout the entire period was helpful in managing these side effects.
accutane sucks all the oil out your body so naturally you will be a very dry, scaly person. do yourself a favor and just take some fish oil to alleviate the side effects of that.
if you have allergies and are on accutane during the spring, TAKE ALLERGY MEDICINE!! my eyes would be bloodshot red if i didn't take this haha. it also helps with the purging period.
to get the most effects out of the accutane capsules you take, make sure you take it with something fatty. accutane is absorbed best with fatty foods so to make each pill count, make sure you pair it with a fat. I typically just drank a cup a milk with the pills. Other options include peanut butter, avocado, nuts etc. also take the pills with your biggest meal.
literally just this specific one from Supergoop, i'm not a huge fan.. it leaves my face very oily. maybe this is good for people who have dry skin but for me, an oily person, i look like an oil rig after this.
don't be influenced by the influencers on this. this literally did nothing and it was so expensive. it also made your skin look cakey if you wanted to apply makeup over it.
